MENTAL HEALTH REVIEW BOARD


Under the provisions of Mental Healthcare Act 2017, the Mental Health Review Boards have started functioning at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. The Board comprising of District Judge (Rtd) as Chairperson/Chairman, representative of District Collector, one Psychiatrist and Medical practitioner and two persons who shall be person with mental illness or caregiver or person representing NGO’s in this field as members. The various services of Mental Health Review Boards as stipulated under provisions of Mental Healthcare Act 2017 can be availed by persons with mental illness and their representatives and various Mental Health Establishments.
